Conceptual photographic art
It's safe to say that no artistic style emerges spontaneously. Understanding the sources of influence of an artistic movement allows us to understand its aesthetic codes and emotional language. This is how we begin to research the influences that inspire the production of conceptual photography. In an artistic endeavor, we certainly can't predict where the future will take us, but we can certainly know where we come from.

A selection of young photographers offering their conceptual photography portfolios on social media. These young creators cross the line of reality to offer us creative images based on imagination and the world of dreams. Inspired by innovative artists such as Robert and Shana Parke Harrison and Teun Hocks, creativity in conceptual photography is in no short supply.

Alex Stoddard

Alex Stoddard, Far Enough
Alex Stoddard is a photographer living in Los Angeles, California. He was born in 1993 and raised in rural Georgia. Inspired by his surroundings and isolation as a teenager, he began taking self-portraits in the woods behind his family home. Photography became a means of escape, allowing him to construct elaborate scenes and step into the role of different characters through costumes and posing.
Stoddard's work is highly influenced by art history in the digital age. He explores concepts of fantasy and surrealism within portraiture, as well as the human form and its connection to nature. He is entirely self-taught and relies on his eye and natural instinct when creating. His style is characterized by simple compositions that frame more meaningful, universal themes.

Brooke Shaden

I am a fine art self-portrait photographer and I've been creating for 10 years. I actually started my career here on Flickr (!!) and I'm so grateful that I get to do what I love. My images are dark, surreal, and question what it means to be alive. I sell my work in galleries, license them for book covers and album art, and give motivational speeches around the world in the hope of fulfilling my dream: to inspire creativity in others. I am also a writer & entrepreneur with a curious soul.
